Materials for Sundays that mark special occasions or themes are prepared annually by members of the Methodist Connexional Team. Previous content is retained for reference until new material has been prepared.
You can find hymns and songs appropriate to different Special Sundays by using the drop-down headings in the Special Sundays category on the right of this page.
In addition, Singing the Faith Plus hymns, published on this site and not included in the printed hymn book, are listed by latest published under Latest hymns. They are also listed in a single document using the same Contents headings as in the hymn book.
For information, prayers and other resources see individual resource pages:

Special Sundays: some further thoughts
Churches planning special occasions in worship will find the materials prepared for Special Sundays invaluable. Methodist Church councils, local preachers and worship leaders might wish to make use of some or all of the material at various points during the year. Individuals may also want to use some of this material for personal praye.
The list of Special Sundays included here is not exclusive. Don’t forget local festivals such as Choir Sunday, or Hymn or Flower festivals, and so on.
When planning services, remember that the weekly lectionary normally takes pride of place. The Special Sunday theme may be woven into the sermon; but its main use is to inform the prayers of the congregation.
Access to this material
Not everyone who needs to see the suggestions here and on the Special Sundays pages will be able to look it up on these websites. They may appreciate you downloading the material and printing it out. Please offer this service to your church council secretary, your minister and local preachers in your congregation.
