Make a joyful noise to the Lord:
Re-visiting Psalm 100

Deadline: 15 May 2017

The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada

In anticipation of it’s 2017 conference, “Now Thank We All Our God: Celebrating Congregational Song Since the Reformation,” the Hymn Society’s Executive Committee has announced a search for a new tune setting for Psalm 100. The winning entry will be premiered at the Society’s 2017 conference in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

“An effective entry in this search will provide a musically fresh, singable tune for the words/paraphrase of Psalm 100, one of the most beloved of all the Psalms.”

This search is primarily for a new tune which may be used for a new or existing version of Psalm 100. Regardless of the composer’s choice for a text, the text must be submitted with the tune.
A prize of $500 will be offered to the winning entry. The awarding of any prize money is conditional upon the assignment of copyright to The Hymn Society.

Further details and instructions for submitting an entry may be found on The Hymn Society website
