Olympics: Hymn inspired by Olympic Torch relay

We are pleased to publish another hymn submitted to Singing the Faith and inspired by the forthcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Revd Dominic Grant is the minister of Crowborough United Church & Wadhurst Methodist Church in East Sussex. He completed A prize that won’t perish in time for th Olympic Torch relay to pass through the area where he lives, just south of Royal Tunbridge Wells.

With the torch relay runners in mind, Dominic has written words that fit with the theme music for the film, Chariots of Fire. His words draw upon a number of biblical texts, reflecting both the theme of peace embodied in the Olympic and paralympic ideals and also our Christian commitment to speak and live our faith in full public view.
