The sight of seedlings as they grow
The crunch of footprints in the snow
The pattern of a leaf unfurled
All show God’s wonders in our world.
The taste of icecream in the heat
The feel of sand beneath our feet
The smell of peas fresh from the pod
All show the wonders made by God.
The hugs from parents every day
Our friends at school and far away
From seeds below to stars above
All show our great Creator’s love.

Ideas for use
This is a song written with young children in mind and is suitable for many occasions but particularly, perhaps, at Harvest and during Creation Time. It’s the kind of song that suggests being linked to Junior Church/Sunday School activities undertaken with children. The collection of peas in their pods, of leaves from the woods, or the gathering of harvest gifts may be an option – and maybe even of icecreams!
Musicians amongst the children or elsewhere within the congregation can provide the optional descant on suitable instruments.
